Another Successful Year

Thanks to so many generous people in and around our community, we have successfully wrapped up another Children’s Christmas Store with approximately 30 children attending. We also had some parents shopping this year.
Our doors opened at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and did a brisk business for the next five hours. With the helpers ready to assist the children, we left Mom & Dad in the wings and the kids were able to pick that certain something for them so they could be surprised on Christmas morning.
They were so very pleased with the selection of gifts to pick from. After shopping slowed, we were able to access and rearrange for the next day.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the store was open for a few new and a few returning shoppers. Then we were able to sort and donate the remaining items to Christmas Cheer (the bulk of our items go there). The rest that is suitable, is given to the Women’s Shelter and Samaritan House.
We could not do this without the help of so many. The individuals, the Churches and the community organizations who donated gifts as well as those who gave monetarily to our store. Local business who allow us to place our donation boxes in their establishments, thank you. To our volunteers who help at the store and make shopping special for the children. To the Drop-In Centre for allowing us to store, set up and see the gifts on Friday and Saturday.
This is a season of giving and the residence of Carberry and surrounding area are some of the best. If you can see the smiles and happiness on the faces of these children as they browse and purchase something by themselves, you would know how special this store is. Without your generous support it would not be possible.
Thank you. God Bless and have a Wonderful Holiday Season.
