The new vice principal at Carberry Collegiate is Clayton Carefoot of Neepawa. He graduated from the French Immersion program at Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School before receiving three degrees from Brandon University in Bachelor of General Studies, Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education specializing in guidance and counselling.
His sixteen years of education experience includes two years at Arborg (grade 5-8), five years at Erickson (grades 7-12) French and other assigned subjects plus nine years at Neepawa, with the last four years as a resource teacher.
To reinforce his language skills, he has attended summer French Immersion classes at Trois Riviere, Quebec.
Mr. Carefoot will teach grades 5-8 French and spend half time in administration which is one of his goals.
His hobbies include golf, cycling, and is an avid hockey fan. The Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets are his favourite.
He also ran the 2015 Manitoba half marathon (13 km) for the first time. Clayton prefers cycling as it's easier on his joints and will cycle to Clear Lake for the tenth time soon in the MS organized event.
