Help us scare hunger this Halloween!

posted Oct 26, 2015, 8:09 AM by Kathy Carr
We Scare Hunger is an event held around Halloween every year to help end hunger and give to those in need in your community. On October 29th, 2015 the grade 8 students of Carberry Collegiate will be going around town collecting non-perishable food items from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to give to the local food bank.
Millions of people go hungry every single day, and we may not realize it, but this includes people who live in our own community. Many people must rely on our local food banks to help them provide meals for their family. By giving to We Scare Hunger, you help out a family in need in so many ways.
We Scare Hunger is a part of We Day, an event that happens annually to inspire youth around the world. We Day has raised over 45 million dollars and collected 5.6 million pounds of food since it started in 2007.
We Scare Hunger is a fantastic way to give back to your community. Please have some non-perishable food items ready for us when we come knock on your door. If you won’t be home, you can leave a bag for us on your doorstep. Our school, Carberry Collegiate, a We School, collected 979.5 pounds of food last year. Help us beat that number this year by giving to We Scare Hunger.
