By now everyone that reads my articles can tell I have a strong passion for recreation and parks. Combine that passion with warmer weather and the possibilities are endless! We often hear the term families that play together, stay together. I feel thatrecreation and leisure pursuits are a great tool for families to dive into together. Think about it: Recreation provides safe developmental opportunities for children, produces leaders who serve their communities, builds social skills and life-long participation skills and most June kicks off National Parks and Recreation Month! importantly, builds pride in individuals and communities. Recreation is often the catalyst that builds strong, self-sufficient communities. That being said, we have many activities planned for June including; yoga in the park, baby and me yoga, hug-a-tree information program, mental health workshops, pool grand opening, pool programming, trail walking resources and the beach volleyball court debut. Check out the tools online for activities to do with your families or please be in touch with me for more information on programming and opportunities in our area!
