What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundation is a charitable organization that manages and invests gifts from individuals, families and other organizations. The interest earned on the gifts provides for the community through grants. There are more than 190 community foundations across Canada.  A community foundation is permanent, but flexible and can adapt to changes in the community.  As only the interest is dispersed, it assures that decades from now, the original spirit and intent of a gift will continue to be honoured.

Ultrasound Initiative
We would like to take a moment to thank those who have generously contributed to the Carberry Health Action Committee and the CACF’s initiative to raise funds for an ultrasound machine for the Carberry Health Clinic.  To date, $10,900 has been donated by the community!  The addition of this diagnostic machine will increase the quality of care to patients in our community.  The Carberry Health Action Committee and CACF continue to strive to reach their fundraising goal.
Donations are graciously accepted by Tricia Zander, at her office in the Municipal building.  Tax receipts are issued for donations of $20 or more.
Christmas Tree of Lights Fundraiser
This fundraiser provides an opportunity for individuals to remember a loved one or friend by having a Christmas light lit in their memory on Main Street in Carberry.
Applications from organizations wishing to receive the fundraising income from this initiative will be accepted until 4:00  p.m. SHARP on October 14, 2016.  For more information please visit the Christmas Tree of Lights page on our website.
24 Hour Giving Challenge
CACF will once again be taking part in the 24 Hour Giving Challenge!  For one day only, you can make an even bigger difference in our community.  On November 19th, all donations made to Carberry and Area Community Foundation will be stretched by a contribution from The Winnipeg Foundation.  For every $5 you give, The Winnipeg Foundation will add $1. Stretching your gift means even more benefit for your hometown.  No matter the size of your gift, your contribution will improve life here for generations to come.
