Severe Thunderstorm Watch

posted Jul 5, 2016, 11:33 AM by Kathy Carr
From Environment Canada: Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

A trough of low pressure located over southeast Saskatchewan and southwest Manitoba will allow for thunderstorm development this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #MBStorm.
