What's happening at the Fair

It's summer time and you know what that means…the 132nd Carberry Fair and Races will be happening this year on July 3, 4 & 5. This year's fair has something for everyone to enjoy!
Events begin on Friday, July 3 at 4:30 p.m. with the 4-H Beef Show, and at 7:30 p.m. the Junior Draft Horse Hitch Class will be held. 
You'll want to make sure that you're seated at the Grandstand at 8:00 p.m. as Double Nickel will be performing till dusk. Following the show, the popular fireworks display sponsored by the Carberry Men's Curling Club and Carberry and District Chamber of Commerce will be put on by Keith Looney and the Carberry/North Cypress Fire Department. 
Saturday, July 4, starts off with the Pancake Breakfast which is put on by the Legion. At 9:00 a.m. sharp the 4-H Beef show and Light Horse shows begin. 
The Display and Trade Show building also open at 9:00 a.m. and new this year will be a display of miniature farm equipment in the Trade Show Building. 10:00 a.m. brings the start of the Parade and the Westman Aerial Barrel Racing which is a MBRA sanctioned event. 
Bingo is back again this year and will be running from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Official Grand Opening of the Fair is at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Grandstand. Fair favourites, the Wild Dogs Performance Team, Draft Horse Show, the 4-H Beef Sale and the Chariot and Chuckwagon races are all back for another year. 
New this year between the Chariot and Chuckwagon Races is the Charity Potato Truck Pull with all the proceeds going to Cancer Care Manitoba. The event has teams of 10, out collecting pledges and will be attempting to pull a potato truck 60 feet that night. The very popular BPO Elks Pancake Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. starts off Sunday, July 5. At 9:15 a.m. is the Cowboy Church Service followed by the Ranch Rodeo and Purebred Beef Show at 10:00 a.m. 
The Trade Show and Display buildings open at 10:00 a.m. for one last day of looking around. The Draft Horse Hitch Class begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by the First Lady Classic Heifer show at 2:00 p.m. The Chariot Races start at 2:30 p.m. followed by the Raffle Horse Draw and Elks Raffle Draw at 3:30 p.m., and ending the day at 4:00 p.m. is the Chuckwagon Races.
All weekend long there will also be Concessions, Home Cooked Meals, Legion Beer Gardens, Baby Animal Display, Beach Volleyball, Silver Sand Pile and Face Painting. 
New this year in the kid's zone will be the Children's BIG GAMES. These games are life-size versions of your favourites like Jenga and Connect 4.
There is definitely a lot happening at the Fair on July 3, 4, & 5, so make sure you come out to the Fair!
